Write your sorrows in sand but etch your blessings in stone. dee
For as long as I can remember, I have cut and pasted quotations that resonated with me into a journal. The advent of computers made it infinitely easier. A few buttons and swipes, a careful attribution of the words, and it’s in my file called QUOTES. I tend to include things that feel true and memorable. It occurred to me this morning, how very much the quotations that I keep are a truthful mirror of who I am and who I want to be. What a striking realization. For some reason, it completely escaped me that these gems, these pearls of wisdom that I have gathered from far and near, circumscribe me, leaving a clear imprint of just what matters to me. My collection is entirely from reading I have done -- certainly reflecting a motley collection of authors and philosophers ( Aristotle, Drake, Longfellow) To my mind, these goodies have been earned, rather than glibly culled from Pinterest. See what you can make of the ones that touched me -- help yourself. By doing so, you might be surprised to find out just who you are!
